Twelve Gifts of Christmas

It’s Christmas! Time to celebrate the wondrous gift of Jesus Christ in our lives!

We find ourselves busy shopping for presents and planning for holiday festivities. The fact is, the very bustle of this season brings us unique opportunities to touch lives for Christ in ways we might otherwise miss.

Starting today, I invite you to join me for twelve days of purposeful giving that will bring the light of Christ to strangers you may meet as well as to friends and loved ones as you go about your daily activities.

Each weekday you will receive a practical gift idea and suggestions for how you might bring this gift to others. You will also receive a Bible verse for reflection and a pledge statement you can carry on your heart throughout the day.

May God add his blessing and grace to your twelve days of gift giving! Through your daily acts of kindness and sacrifice, you make his kingdom visible to every person you encounter.

Twelve Gifts of Christmas – Day 1

Today’s Gift

Give others the benefit of the doubt.

Too often we assume that we know a person’s thoughts or motives. Wrong negative assumptions can easily lead to hurt or angry feelings and escalate a conflict. For today, suspend negative assumptions and give people the benefit of the doubt.

Ponder

“The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7)

Pledge

Today I will assume the best about people.
