Meditation on Psalm 19

Scripture

Psalm 19:14 NASB

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer.

Consider

This prayer arose from my meditation on Psalm 19.

REDEEMER: Lord Jesus, you freed me from the dark depths of Debtors Prison. I saw your shining face and heard the voice that had been calling to me through my fear and confusion. You gave up everything so that you could come to this dark place to rescue me, just me. I was freed, and I heard your words: Your debt is paid. You never need to be afraid again.

ROCK: You are the Person I cling to. You are the light that dissolves my fears. You are goodness and love, truth and wisdom, safety and strength. As long as I cling to you, I cannot be dragged back into darkness and wickedness.

LORD: Because you have rescued me and given me true light and life to cling to, I want to serve you. I want to surrender all that I am to your service. Out of love for you and desire to spread your kingdom, I ask for your light to burn bright in me. Use me to penetrate darkness in your Name so that other prisoners may be rescued.

WORDS and MEDITATIONS: Because you are my Redeemer, my Rock, and my Lord, I want to live purely and act with righteous intent. But I cannot be pure on my own, nor righteous by my own efforts. Come, Holy Spirit, and take charge of my thoughts. Align my heart with your divine heart until all my desires follow yours. Instruct me in your ways of peace so that my words will be kind and others will be touched by the very grace that saved me and gave me purpose and hope.
