Scripture
Judges 6:36-37 NLT
Then Gideon said to God, “If you are truly going to use me to rescue Israel as you promised, prove it to me in this way. I will put a wool fleece on the threshing floor tonight. If the fleece is wet with dew in the morning but the ground is dry, then I will know that you are going to help me rescue Israel as you promised.”
Consider
Is it ever right to test God? Gideon—the least important member of the least important clan in all of Israel—has been called by God to raise an army and defeat Israel’s Midianite oppressors.

Scripture
Galatians 6:1 NIV
Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.
Consider
The phrase “someone who is caught in a sin” is usually interpreted to mean someone who has been discovered sinning. Scripture
Proverbs 16:24 NIV
Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
Consider
In giving us the gift of human speech, God also gives us a serious responsibility. Words we speak to one another have an almost magical power to heal or to hurt. Gracious, kindly words cost us little, yet so often we withhold them out of stubbornness or pique. Even our silence can sting when someone needs the balm of our forgiveness.

Scripture
1 John 3:2-3 NLT
Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure.
Consider
God has given us an amazing promise. Not only will we receive eternal life but we will be changed into the likeness of the Son and will share in his glory. This means that our bodies, our minds, our personalities—everything that we are—will be purified and restored.

Scripture
Ecclesiastes 7:13; 8:16-17 NLT
Accept the way God does things, for who can straighten what he has made crooked?… In my search for wisdom and in my observation of people’s burdens here on earth, I discovered that there is ceaseless activity, day and night. I realized that no one can discover everything God is doing under the sun. Not even the wisest people discover everything, no matter what they claim.
Consider
These words from Ecclesiastes uncover two important attributes of God: God is both omnipotent and omniscient.
